- Just like the elders, it is also expected of us that our faith receive commendation.
- Abel obtained a good report when God spoke well of his offerings [Heb 11:4]
- The one who comes to God must believe that God exists and rewards those who diligently seek Him Man has lost access to God; we are not allowed to see Him. Seeking God, therefore, is looking gain access to Him, to see Him [Heb 11:6].
- Seeking God has always been the pursuit of God’s saints [Ps 23:6; 27:4]
- The patriarchs and Moses knew of the New Jerusalem and looked forward to it [Exo 15:17; Heb 11:8-10]
- The dwelling place of God – the one in which Abraham and his sons hoped to live – was in existence before Adam’s sin.
- The dwelling place is the same place referred to as the “Rest” of God. The same place is the “Rest” that God “took” after creation on the 7th The rest is not just a state of being but a place [Heb 4:1-6].
- God is a Spirit [John 4:24]. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God because the Kingdom of God is a kingdom of spirits, a kingdom of gods.
Flesh is weak. Not just in strength but in mind as well [Isa 40:5-6,13-14,28-31].
